Family and Urgent Care: City
Family and Urgent Care: Rural

Elective Clinical Rotations are open to 3rd and 4th year medical students.  Students will get a well rounded experience in all aspects of Family Medicine and Urgent Care:  From city to rural to mission.  They will get a unique experience in our Mission clinic because it combines medical, dental procedures and mental health, something very few medical students have the opportunity to be exposed to.


WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW....................

Rotations: 4 week blocks.
Cost:  $250 per week.

Housing:  Boards Ready housing options:  IF THERE ARE ANY AVILABILITY IN THE BOARDS READY HOUSING, ROTATING STUDENTS HAVE THE OPTION TO RENT FROM OUR UNITS.  The student housing is fully furnished, stocked with dishware/pots,  and includes all utilities, trash and internet.  Cost:  $550/month.  If you are interested, please contact us for availability.  The only thing required would be personal items: sheets, pillow cases, blankets, towels. 

Transportation: Students will need to be able to provide their own transportation to and from the clinics.  Springfield, MO is centrally located so makes an easy drive from most states.
The Springfield-Branson National Airport (SGF) is located in Springfield for those that want to fly and rent a car here.  Springfield is serviced by American Airlines, Delta and United Airlines.

What to bring:  Clinic attire (men: slacks, collared shirts.  ladies: slacks/skirts/dress, nice shirt) and scrubs.  Depending upon where you rotate will determine what you will wear.  Wear comfortable shoes (no sandals!).  Lab coat and school ID badge, stethoscope, pocket notebook, pen/pencil, Bates paperback pocket diagnosis book.

Requirement for Core or Elective Credits for your medical school:  To receive the 4 week Elective Rotation Credit with your school, you will need to have your school email an affiliation agreement to us at academics@boardsready.com    

Rotation Availability, Approval, Reservation:  Student must contact Board Ready and request approval for prefered rotation dates. 

Balance Due: The full balance of the Elective Rotation and Student Housing fees (if using Boards Ready Housing) are due one week prior to the starting date of the elective rotation.

Clinical Evaluations:  Your school will provide you with an evaluation form that we will fill out and return to your school.  Please bring this with you and give to your preceptor the last week of your rotation.
